Beginning of Summer

The sun has come out and the beaches are looking beautiful. We went to Taormina today to have a pre-Summer beach day. Taormina is one of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily and a very popular tourist destination. Unfortunately, the jellyfish were out so we had to be careful when walking in the water to get to a small island to lay out. It did make for some fun entertainment while laying out and watching everyone walk through the jellyfish infested water. A couple boys fell all the way in the water when trying to avoid them and others just screamed and walked very carefully. After laying out we had lunch at a beautiful restaurant overlooking the beach....a great end to our weekend.

Paris

Gene and I went to Paris for President's day weekend. It was one of my favorite places so far. Paris is so clean and contradictory to the stereotype, French people are very nice! Getting croissants for breakfast every morning was one of our favorite parts :) The bread in France is 100% better than the bread in Sicily - soft and warm. (The bread in Sicily is hard and cold). The Eiffel Tower was amazing and unfortunately, the very top was closed so we only made it up to the second level but it was still amazing. I think this is one place I may have to make a second trip to before we leave :)
