Beginning of Summer

The sun has come out and the beaches are looking beautiful. We went to Taormina today to have a pre-Summer beach day. Taormina is one of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily and a very popular tourist destination. Unfortunately, the jellyfish were out so we had to be careful when walking in the water to get to a small island to lay out. It did make for some fun entertainment while laying out and watching everyone walk through the jellyfish infested water. A couple boys fell all the way in the water when trying to avoid them and others just screamed and walked very carefully. After laying out we had lunch at a beautiful restaurant overlooking the beach....a great end to our weekend.

walking along the beach we noticed people spearing jellyfish

  1. So nice! I'm glad the weather is warming up so you can enjoy the beach a little more now. I told Amelia you want to Taormina where we went to the beach in Sicily and she said, "Oh, the rocky one?" I'm so glad she remembers our trip there!

  2. The beginning of summer is one of the best moments to visit Taormina: temperature's fine, not too many tourists... and of course the magic of such an enchanting spot :-)
